Homemade ribs

Grilled ribs are a comfort meal staple. Their tenderness, smoky flavor and juicy texture make them a dish that will appeal to many. In this article, we are going to share a simple and delicious homemade recipe for grilled ribs.

Ingredients

For the ribs:

  • Plain ribs
  • 2 tablespoons of paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

For the homemade barbecue sauce:

  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
  3. In a bowl, mix all the seasonings.
  4. Generously rub the ribs with this seasoning mixture.
  5. Place the ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet, bone side down.
  6. Cover the ribs with aluminum foil and bake for about 2 hours.
  7. While the ribs are cooking, combine all the barbecue sauce ingredients in a saucepan.
  8. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  9. About 30 minutes from the end of cooking, remove the foil and apply the homemade barbecue sauce to both sides of the ribs.
  10. Once the ribs are cooked, remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes.
  11. Cut the ribs between the bones and serve with the accompaniment of your choice (salad, fries, potatoes, etc.).
