Crab season is here and it's the perfect time to plan a crab party with friends! Our 10 lb boxes will be perfect for 10 people, but you can also keep a few sections in the freezer if you plan to be fewer.
To get us in the mood, here are three easy-to-cook crab recipes. Treat yourself!
Recipe #1: Crab Spring Rolls
This is a recipe worthy of the arrival of spring with its fresh herbs bringing flavor and color! Ready in just 30 minutes, it's a guaranteed success.
Ingredients:
- 8 rice cakes, 15 cm in diameter
- 1 carrot
- 1/3 cucumber
- 1 grannysmith apple
- 1 C. tablespoon of basil
- 1 C. tablespoon of mint
- 1 C. coriander
- 150g crab meat
- 1 yellow grapefruit
- olive oil
Preparation:
- Peel the carrot and julienne it with the cucumber and apple
- Chop the basil, mint and coriander
- Mix the crab meat with the grapefruit juice, julienne and chopped herbs
- Drizzle with a good splash of olive oil and let drain in a colander.
- Moisten the rice cakes, wait until they soften and add 1/8 of the crab preparation to each one.
- Roll the pancakes, trapping the stuffing. Serve.
Serve with peanut sauce or something else!
Recipe #2: Avocado stuffed with crab
Perfect to eat at dinner time or to serve as a starter , these avocados will certainly make you salivate with happiness.
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe avocados
- 350 g crab meat
- 2 shallots
- 2 tbsp. tablespoon of mayonnaise
- 1/4 tsp. Tabasco coffee
- 1 C. tablespoon of olive oil
- lemon juice
- powdered paprika
- salt pepper
Preparation:
- Peel and finely chop the shallots
- In a bowl, mix the crumbled crab meat with the chopped shallots, Tabasco, olive oil and mayonnaise. Add lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste and stir well
- Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits
- Sprinkle the halves with lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
- Add crab mixture to avocado halves
- Sprinkle with a little paprika and serve
To add a little crunch, serve with rusks!
Recipe #3: Mango and crab rougail
15 minutes tops for this divine recipe that will make you believe you are in the tropics!
Ingredients:
- 2 green mangoes
- 120 g of crab
- 10 cherry tomatoes
- 1 shallot
- 2 red peppers
- 2 tbsp. tablespoon of sunflower oil
- 2 limes
- 2 tbsp. tablespoon of sugar
- 1 C. tablespoon of nuoc-mâm
- 1 C. tablespoon of white balsamic vinegar
- 4 tbsp. tablespoon of olive oil
- salt
Preparation:
- Peel the mangoes and julienne
- Cut the cherry tomatoes in half. Finely slice the shallot and red peppers (reserve some for the sauce). Season everything with a pinch of salt and sunflower oil
- To prepare the sauce: take some zest from the limes before squeezing them. Add the sugar, nuoc-mâm sauce, vinegar and a pinch of salt to the juice. Finish with olive oil and the rest of the chili pepper
- Place the crab on a plate and add the tomatoes and mangoes
- Season everything with the sauce and serve
