Q&A

Delivery

To find out, enter your postal code in the sidebar at the top of the website. Do you think we deliver to your postal code, but you are told that we don't? The app sometimes fails. Write to us at info@reservelocale.ca and we will find a solution.

We deliver locally in Quebec and send packages outside the Capitale-Nationale with dry ice, through our partner carrier. Order before Monday 11 p.m. to access the delivery on Thursday.

No problem, but we cannot guarantee an exact delivery time. The carrier will pass before 6 p.m. You will receive the delivery time on the morning of shipment.

If you are in a condo or an apartment, you absolutely must be present for the delivery.* If the delivery person does not have access to the entrance hall, he will leave with your package and deliver the next day. We cannot guarantee that your products will always be frozen.

If you want the box to be left in a particular place (hide it, ring a neighbour's doorbell, etc.) You can give us more details in the “delivery details” section, when you place your order.

Here are some ideas that might help:

- Ask a neighbor to pick up your order and write their address in the delivery instructions.
- Ask your concierge to take the box for you, mentioning it in the instructions to the delivery person.
- Have your box delivered to work.

* The delivery time will be communicated to you the morning of the shipment, stay tuned!

If you think you will have to be absent during the apartment/condo delivery, contact customer service at 418-317-9400 at least 24 hours in advance.

**Our parcel shipping policies state that we are not responsible for defrosted products if the delivery person was unable to access your apartment or lobby during the first delivery. You choose your delivery day yourself to avoid this problem. Thank you for understanding.

If you live in a house, the package will be left at the door.

No, all our orders are placed online on our website, and we deliver directly to you! Our delivery hours do not suit you? Have your order delivered to one of our partner pick-up points!

Our insulated boxes and our dry ice will keep your products frozen until they are received. However, we do not know in what condition the box will be left in front of your door. If it is in the sun, the ice keeping time will decrease. Do you think you will be absent during the delivery? Show us a place where we could leave the box in the shade in the delivery instructions!

If you are in a condo or an apartment, refer to the point above.

However, if you want the box to be left in a particular place (hide it, ring a neighbour's doorbell etc.), you can give us more details in the "delivery details" section when you place your order.

- Ask a neighbor to pick up your order and write their address in the delivery instructions.

Our prices and our quality are comparable to those of specialty grocery stores, but we offer delivery, in addition to guaranteeing products from Quebec farms only.

Products

We offer several certified organic products, but not all of our products are certified organic. All products that are organic have the mention “organic” in their title.

Organic certification is extremely expensive for producers. So, for now, we are looking more at the agricultural and farming practices of our suppliers than at organic certification. However, we have organic pork and chicken! With the exception of our MSC certified fish, 100% of our products from Quebec!

With the exception of our MSC-certified fish, our products are 100% (and proudly!!) from Quebec!

If you click on the product, a window will appear with a description, weight, ingredients and some details about the farm or fishery.

In Canada, our meats are “antibiotic free”. By law, any animal must go through a withdrawal period before it can be processed for consumption.

There is a difference between “antibiotic-free” products and “raised without antibiotics” products. “Raised without antibiotics” means the animals have never received antibiotics in their lifetime.

We specify "added", because all animals contain natural hormones (like us). "Raised without added hormones" means that no additional hormones or growth promoters were given to the animal.

No, the best-before date on your product is the same as if it had not been frozen. Our deep-freezing and vacuum-packing thechinics enable us to keep products frozen for over 16 months.

Storage and box

Conservation Benefits

All of our products are frozen and vacuum packed. Freezing is an industrial technique that allows us to suddenly cool products by exposing them to temperatures down to -50°C. In addition to lengthening the shelf life of the product, freezing helps to retain the nutritional properties of foods, their flavor and their texture.

Reduction of food waste

Our products are packaged in individual portions, so you can defrost only what you need. A freezer full of great local produce means fewer unexpected take-out dinners and more healthy, home-cooked meals!

Although used interchangeably in common language, "freezing" and "flash freezing" are two distinct terms.

Flash-freezing is a complex industrial technique that rapidly cools products by exposing them to very low temperatures, as low as -50°C. This technique quickly transforms the water in food into ice.

On the other hand, freezing is a slower process that maintains frozen foods at a low temperature before consumption. It cools food less rapidly and at a less frigid temperature than flash-freezing.

Our facilities and suppliers have the certifications required to carry out processing and vacuum packaging. Vacuum packaging removes oxygen from the container or bag to prevent ice crystals from forming. In conventional freezing, it is these crystals that alter the texture of our food and make it ugly when cooked. You will not compromise on the quality of the texture!

You can place the products that you will consume soon in the refrigerator and the others in the freezer. Allow approximately 24 hours for your products to defrost in the refrigerator (depending on their weight). Once defrosted, products should be consumed within 3-5 days and within 3 days for seafood.

Meat, poultry, game, sausages: 3 to 5 days

Fish and seafood: 2 to 3 days

Our boxes are 100% Quebec, 100% made of recycled materials, 100% recyclable! ♻️
